# 166 Dist 7730 Youth Conference

(Pictures to come)

Held in conjunction with District 7730's District Conference, the Youth Conference was held on the same premises in another building.  There were about forty Interact  and twelve Rotaract students.  Chad was one of five speakers, his topic, Youth Service Above Self.
His 30 min presentation reviewed his experiences in Rotary defining each area with his own experience. The areas he spoke to were; RYLA (both as a participant and counselor), summer exchange student, Shelter Box and Polio NID in India.  Additionally, he spoke about his seven years as a volunteer with Kidz'NGrief and his book Good Grief.  He told the group to follow their passion and to keep focused on reaching their goals, even when things don't go the way you planned. It took over 3 years for his first book to be published.  A Rotaract student talked about life in Palestine and the struggles his family faced.  Two other Rotaract students started a school in Nepal, and spoke about the struggles of education in the impoverished country.  Very compelling speakers, we left prior to the last speaker as we had a very long drive home.
