#59 North Stafford (7610)
I couldn't wait to finally get to this club, my very best Rotary friend and Immediate Past President, Andrea Coble is a member at the North Stafford Club. Okay I was looking at the old district directory and went to the wrong site. A quick call to Andrea got me at the right spot, before the meeting started. I commend this club for the innovative way of providing breakfast. A club member buys, prepares and brings the meal to the club. Members pay $6 per week and any funds left over after the purchase of the food is put back into the club. This morning the breakfast had a european flair with sliced meats and cheese in addition to the fresh fruit, bagels & danish.
Before the speaker Andrea and another member had a skit for the club. "Hanz" and "Franz" wanted to Pump us up for the 2nd annual Health Fitness Challenge. Dressed as muscle body builders they taunted members to meet their challenge of each signing up 10 people for the Health Challenge. The prize...over $9,000 for the project of their choice! Now this skit was taped wonder if we will see it on YouTube.
Mary Wharton from the Burke club spoke on Education Grow, a program that teaches communities to grow and farm plants that are native to their area and nutritionally sound. She has been working in the Solomon Islands with Rotary clubs there. After the meeting, Andrea gave Mary & I a tour of the Episcopal Church, simply stunning.
Thank you for the T-shirt and the beautiful candle holder.
Meal $6
